vintage bar revamp
I’m sure it’s no surprise to anyone out there, but our Christmas decorations just came down last week. I mean, this season that the world is in is hard enough without having to break up with your festive decor before you’re ready to. So, I left it up. For a month longer than usual. But you know what? I absolutely loved every single moment with them up! I turned on the tree and lighted the banister every single morning, and dimmed the lights and lit the candles every single night. For some reason, this year, I just found so much joy in our decorations!
After the Christmas was boxed up and put away and all the glitter and pine needles were swept and vacuumed, it was time for a refresh. I started with our bar. I was gifted a beautiful vintage cobalt set for my birthday, and I let it be my inspiration. I started by unloading everything from the bar, and wiping off my base tray. Some things like our decanters and the large tray stay the same from season to season, but I like to bring in new accents like small trays, new stoppers for the decanters, and different glassware. For this revamp, I found pieces that would work well with the new cobalt set - a floral tray, a blue bottle stopper, and some silver and gold accent trays. You can see from the pictures that I didn’t use everything that I originally gathered, but I like to start with several things that might work then try things out in a few different ways. A few minutes and several different arrangements later, and our bar had gone from post-Christmas-blues to bright and blue and cheery to help us fight the winter blues!
