never just one style….

For several months now, I have been changing, rearranging, and tweaking every corner of our loft. I don’t know if it’s because we’ve been home more than ever these last 13 months or if I’m having some sort of 12 year itch, but I have just felt like everything has been so tired and stagnant and blah for a while now.

This little corner of our living room finally came together this week thanks to some vintage finds that are technically for sale but were much to pretty to put into storage until they find their forever home! I absolutely love the mix of styles and textures and colors in this space. The old brick with the rich velvet curtains. The contemporary black and chrome of the piano with the traditional oriental rug. The black and white photograph with the bold colors of the print and painting. The antique Asian vases mixed in with swung glass from the 60’s and cool cats from the 70’s.

It’s all random. It’s all beautiful. It’s all fun. And I love it! That’s what matters! Choose what you love to fill your space. Choose what makes you smile, and don’t worry about what style it is or whether or not it all “matches.” If you fill your space with what speaks to you, it will be a beautiful, vibrant, exciting place to spend your time.
